Exhibit stickers on PDFs
An exhibit sticker marks a document with its exhibit label — traditionally a small colored label reading “EXHIBIT” with a letter or number underneath. The Exhibit Stickers tool adds that sticker to the first page of each PDF in a set, in your browser, and gives the files back as one ZIP.
How to add exhibit stickers
Step 1: Add the exhibits
Open the Exhibit Stickers tool and drop in one PDF per exhibit.
Step 2: Put them in order
Labels follow the order of the list: the first file is Exhibit A (or 1), the second Exhibit B, and so on. Each card shows its label, and the labels update as you drag or use the arrow buttons.
Step 3: Set up the sticker
| Option | Choices | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Label style | Letters (A, B … Z, AA, AB …) or numbers (1, 2, 3) | Letters |
| Label prefix | e.g. PX-, DX- | blank |
| Start at | Any position, to continue an earlier set | 1 (A) |
| Case number | Printed as “Case No. …“ | blank |
| Witness | Printed as “Witness: …“ | blank |
| Date | Free text | blank |
| Color | Yellow, blue, white | Yellow |
| Corner | Any of the four corners | Bottom right |
| Size | Small, medium, large | Medium |
Blank detail lines are left off the sticker. The preview shows page 1 of the first file with its sticker.
Step 4: Stamp and download
Click Stamp & Download ZIP. By default each file name starts with its label — PX-A - contract.pdf — so the files sort in exhibit order. Untick the option to keep the original names.
Colors
Yellow and blue stickers are often used to tell plaintiff and defendant exhibits apart, and white suits black-and-white printing. Courts and firms have their own conventions, so check the local rules that apply to you.
Tips
- Combine an exhibit’s pages into one file with the PDF merger first — each file gets one sticker.
- Rotated scans are handled: the sticker is placed upright as the page appears on screen.
- To number every page across the set as well, run the files through Bates numbering.
