Why Convert Images to PDF
PDF is a universal format for sharing documents. Converting images to PDF is useful when you need to:
- Share photos as a single file instead of sending multiple attachments
- Create a portfolio or catalog from a collection of product photos
- Submit scanned documents that require a standard file format
- Archive images in a widely compatible, self-contained format
- Print photos through a service that accepts PDF uploads
Combine images, then share one file
Instead of emailing 10 separate photos, convert them to a single PDF. Recipients get one clean file they can scroll through — no zip archives or multiple downloads.
Supported Image Formats
The Images to PDF tool accepts three formats:
| Format | Best For | Supports Transparency |
|---|---|---|
| JPG/JPEG | Photos, screenshots | No |
| PNG | Logos, graphics, screenshots with transparency | Yes |
| WebP | Web graphics, modern photos | Yes |
Have images in other formats?
If your images are in BMP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG format, convert them to JPG or PNG first using any image editor or online converter. Then bring them here to create your PDF.
How to Convert Images to PDF
Step 1: Open the Tool
Go to mergram.com/tools/images-to-pdf. The page loads immediately — no account or signup needed.
Step 2: Add Your Images
Drag and drop your image files onto the upload area, or click Browse to select them. You can add multiple images at once. Each image appears in a list with a thumbnail preview and its file name.
Step 3: Arrange the Order
Drag images in the list to reorder them. The order in the list determines the page order in the output PDF — the first image becomes page 1, the second becomes page 2, and so on.
Step 4: Configure Options
Choose settings for the output PDF:
Page Size — Determines the paper dimensions for each page:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Fit to Image | Each page matches the image’s pixel dimensions |
| A4 | Standard international paper size (210 × 297 mm) |
| Letter | US standard paper size (8.5 × 11 in) |
Orientation — Controls page direction (available for A4 and Letter):
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Auto | Matches each image’s aspect ratio automatically |
| Portrait | Vertical layout |
| Landscape | Horizontal layout |
Margin — Spacing around the image on each page:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| None | Image fills the entire page |
| Normal | 0.5 inch margin on all sides |
| Large | 1 inch margin on all sides |
Image Fit — How the image scales to the page:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Fill Page | Image fills the entire page area (may crop edges) |
| Contain | Image fits entirely within the page without cropping |
Use Fit to Image for photos
If you’re converting photos and want to preserve their original dimensions, select Fit to Image as the page size. Each PDF page will match the image exactly, with no cropping or scaling.
Step 5: Generate and Download
Click Convert to PDF. The tool processes all images and downloads the result as images.pdf. A counter shows how many images are being processed.
To remove an image from the list, click the remove button next to it. You can also add more images at any time before generating.
Tips for Better Results
- Resize large images first — A 6000 × 4000 pixel photo creates a very large PDF. If you’re sharing digitally, resize images to around 1500–2000px on the longest side before converting.
- Use PNG for transparency — If your images have transparent backgrounds (logos, icons), use PNG format to preserve transparency in the PDF.
- Choose A4 or Letter for printing — If you plan to print the PDF, select the paper size that matches your printer. Use Normal or Large margins for a cleaner printed result.
- Use Contain mode for mixed orientations — If you have a mix of portrait and landscape photos, set orientation to Auto and image fit to Contain to avoid cropping.
- Combine with other tools — After creating your PDF, use the PDF Compressor to reduce file size, or the PDF Merger & Splitter to add more pages.
Privacy and Security
The Images to PDF tool processes everything in your browser. Your photos and images never leave your device — there is no server upload, no cloud storage, and no retained copies. It works with personal photos, sensitive documents, and confidential images without any privacy risk.
