Credits & Billing

Learn how Mergram's credit-based pricing works, manage your subscription plan, and track usage across your team.

How credits work

Mergram uses a credit-based system. Each operation that generates output consumes credits from your team’s balance. Credits are shared across all team members.

Free operations

Most day-to-day activities are free: uploading files, placing fields on the canvas, previewing individual rows, saving templates, and managing team members. You only pay when generating output.


What costs credits

Credits are only consumed when you run a bulk merge or email campaign. Everything else is free:

  • Uploading files — Free
  • Placing fields on canvas — Free
  • Browser-side preview — Free (no credits, runs locally)
  • Saving templates — Free
  • Managing team members — Free
  • Bulk merge — 1 credit per row
  • Email send — 1 credit per recipient

Estimating costs

To estimate the credit cost of a merge, count the number of data rows in your spreadsheet (excluding the header row). For example, a spreadsheet with 500 rows costs 500 credits. An email campaign to the same 500 recipients also costs 500 credits.


Free trial

New teams receive 100 free trial credits upon sign-up. Use them to test all features — merge, email campaigns, API access — without entering payment details.

The free trial includes:

  • 100 credits for test merges and email campaigns
  • Access to all features including the REST API
  • No time limit — use your trial credits whenever you want
  • No credit card required

  • Monthly credits — Recurring credit allocation each billing cycle

Enterprise

Self-hosted deployments have unlimited credits with no billing or subscription management. Contact us for enterprise pricing.


Usage tracking

View your team’s credit usage in Settings → Credits:

  • Current balance — Credits remaining
  • Job details — Drill into individual jobs to see exact row counts and costs

Best Practices

  • Preview first — Use free browser previews to verify your layout before spending credits on a bulk merge
  • Start small — Test with a small subset of rows before merging the full dataset
  • Monitor usage — Check credit usage regularly to avoid surprises
  • Share credits wisely — Credits are shared across the team. Communicate with team members about planned large merges

Limitations

  • Credits are non-refundable — Once consumed, credits cannot be restored
  • Monthly credits reset — Subscription credits do not roll over to the next billing cycle
  • Team-wide balance — All team members share the same credit pool; there are no per-user allowances
